Even just thirty years ago, the most common wedding cake seen at weddings all over Australia was the traditional fruit cake covered in thick white marzipan icing. Often multi-tiered, it was usually decorated with ribbons and sugared flowers; there were no surprises when it came to a bridal cake.

These days things have changed somewhat! While fruitcake is still reasonably popular, and white marzipan-style icing is still quite common, the options for your wedding cake are much more varies – and in many ways, anything goes.  Continue reading
